  • Milk – 500 ml
  • Milk powder – ½ cup
  • Sugar – ½ cup
  • Ghee – ½ cup minus 1 tbsp
  • Alum, powdered – a very tiny pinch – half of 1/8 tbsp

How to make Milk Cake

  • Make sure there are no lumps and boil the mixture in a heavy pan, stirring regularly.
  • When the mixture starts leaving ghee, it is ready.
  • Grease a vessel & arrange chopped nuts on it.
  • Empty the mixture on it & leave it to cool completely to room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 1-litre full cream milk


  • 1 handful of basmati rice
  • 1/2 cup of Sugar
  • 1/2 cup sweet mango pulp
  • Few Cashews Nuts



Instructions

  • Take a heavy bottom pan.
  • Add very little water and add the milk.
  • Bring it to boil.
  • Reduce the liquid to half of the initial quantity.
  • Now add the soaked rice into boiling milk and boil the rice along with it.
  • When the rice is cooked enough, add sugar and boil for another 10 minutes.
  • Add Cardamom Powder and mix well.
  • Remove from flame.
  • Now let the mixture cool completely.
  • Pour the kheer in a large container and add the mango pulp and mix well.
  • Garnish with chopped cashew nut and refrigerate it for 4 hours before serving.
  • Serve it when it chills.

Singhare Ki Puri Recipe for Ekadasi vrat. These pooris comprised of water chestnut flour and potatoes.

  • 5 to three cups singhare ka atta (water chestnut flour)
  • 1 cup of mashed potatoes or 2 medium-sized potatoes

  • 150 grams spinach (palak)
  • 1½ tablespoons oil
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 to 2 inexperienced chilies
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon turmeric
  • 1½ tablespoon besan (gram flour)
  • ¾ teaspoon GARAM MASALA
  • 1¼ cup water (extra if wanted)
  • ½ to ¾ tablespoon kasuri methi
  • 1 to 1½ tablespoon lemon juice

For tempering

  • ¾ tablespoon GHEE or 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • 2 to three garlic cloves (sliced)
  • 1 to 2 dried purple chilies (damaged)
  • ⅛ teaspoon hing (asafoetida)

How to make Palak Curry Recipe

  • Rinse and chop onions, spinach, ginger, garlic, and inexperienced chilies.
  • Heat some vegetable oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to fry. When they splutter, add onions and inexperienced chilies.
  • Saute until the onions flip golden. Add ginger garlic, turmeric, and salt. Saute for two minutes.

Festivals are incomplete without good food and sweet delights that simply add life to the festive spirit. Puran Poli Recipe is a Maharashtrian recipe made with chana dal, flour and cardamom, and sugar.

This delicious side dish recipe is extremely rich in flavors and is a great option to serve on festivals like Diwali, Janmashtami, and Ganesh Chaturthi.

This delicacy has several variations and is prepared in different ways across various parts of the country. It is a perfect festive recipe and is often prepared during Maharashtrian festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Gudhi Padwa. It is also offered to the deity as naivedya during the festivals. The way how Maharashtrians prepare Puran Poli is almost similar to how Gujaratis do, however, the only difference is that they stuff the sweet dal in a different manner. Puran Poli is loved by kids and adults alike. You can pack this easy Maharashtrian recipe in your kids’ lunchbox as it if filling yet non-messy. It’s a great breakfast recipe which tastes the best when paired with a hot cup of masala tea. If you’re having those sudden hunger pangs and want to eat something scrumptious yet light on the stomach, then go for this easy-to-make Puran Poli recipe. Try out this easy Puran Poli recipe and relish its sweet flavors with your family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups moong pulses
  • 2 cups grated jaggery
  • ½ cup sugar,
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 cups maida
  • ½ cup wheat flour
  • ¼ cup oil
  • ¼ spoon salt
  • ¼ spoon turmeric powder
  • 1 cup of rice flour

How to make Puran Poli Recipe 

  • Soak moong pulses for 10 minutes & then cook it.
  • Then grind it, mix with jaggery and sugar and again cook it for a while till the mixture becomes dry.
  • While cooking stir continuously so it does not get charred.
  • Now put off the gas. Mix cadmium powder & let it cool.
  • Then make medium size balls & keep. This is known as Puran.
    Mix maida, wheat flour, turmeric powder, salt & 4 spoons of oil together, add water and knead the flour (atta).
  • Pour the remaining oil on the kneaded flour and keep away for 20 minutes.
  • Take medium size ball of the atta. Shape it like a small bowl.
  • Insert the Puran gola ( sweet moong dal flour ball ). Close the bowl, press a little, and roll it like poli ( chapati ) with the help of poli roller.
  • Sprinkle some rice atta on it.
  • Now put on the gas bake or roast it from both sides till it becomes wheatish brown.
  • Now the moong Puran poli is ready.
  • Take a plate and arrange the Puran poli with ghee and provide a bowl of hot milk.
